During my time in the military, I was trained and tested to work well—and to lead—in a team environment. However, those skills haven’t always translated well into my civilian career. Deb’s Management Training Institute is based on sustainable management practices that actually work, and that are easy to use on a daily basis.
Her training helped me understand the psychological and emotional (and highly individualized) reasons that managers can become reactive, stuck, or anxious in our roles. I was challenged to confront my blind spots, and I received honest and valuable feedback from the people I manage and work with. As a direct result, I have become personally stronger, which has allowed me to be a stronger leader for my teams, with the added benefit of being a better partner and parent at home.
Deb facilitates her training sessions in a way that allowed me and my colleagues to feel safe talking about our challenges together. Going through 12 months of training with so many of my colleagues and learning that we are all facing the same difficult situations was one of the most powerful parts of the program. I now have stronger, more trusting relationships with managers from across my institution, and an incredible library of resources that I will consult regularly for the rest of my career.
